I think I've found another bug. If you create a task by hitting the + button on the widget, type a title and save, the project should be Inbox (as it was defaulted). However, this new task doesn't seem to show up in Inbox at all, but I do find it in the full list of tasks.

This only seems to be an issue with the widget. Creating from the app, or even by sharing content from another app to Due Today, is fine.

Did you add a date or a context to the task? Anything that would classify the task into another view will keep it out of the inbox. Now that there's a "No Project" view in the project list, I should probably rename the "No Project (Inbox)" label to just "No Project" to be less confusing.

Basically, the Inbox is used for tasks that you haven't placed anywhere else yet. As soon as you give it a date, project, context or a status that matches it up with another view, it will be removed from the inbox. This follows David Allen's Getting Things Done principles.

I'm sorry about the confusion.

Yes, that's what I would expect from an inbox. I don't enter anything but a task title. None of those classifying fields you mentioned have a value. Are you not able to reproduce this? It only happens with the + button on the widget.

Check the rest of the values. I added some code a few builds back that defaulted some of the values (like projects, contexts, etc.) based on the view your widget is set to display. Apparently this might not have been a good idea.

Title: Test
Project: Inbox
Context: None
Priority: Normal
Status: None
Floating: No
Repeat: Repeat (no value as no due date)
Every other field: None.

I have an identical looking task, titled Test2 that I created using the add task shortcut, that does show up in my inbox, but this one never did.

I have two widgets, one showing inbox and the other my hot list. Both exhibit the same behaviour. If I change the widget to show one of my projects, the + button still gives me a form claiming the project is Inbox.

Aside from Joeh's specific problem with the widget and based on the discussions we had before the old forums were compromised, I still agree that the label should be changed to simply "No Project" as you suggested Chris. Thanks for remembering.

I believe that would be a label change in two places:

1) The default project label in the Task Editor view

2) The top selection in the "Select a Project" view

I was able to duplicate the issue with the widget. I'm looking into it tonight before I go to sleep. Seeing as tomorrow's Friday I'll have a new release ready to go (I just have four more issues to clear out.
