WisBar Advance 4.0 Released

I'm pleased to announce that at long last, WisBar Advance 4.0 has been officially released.

Please note that this is NOT a free upgrade. The upgrade price is $6.49 USD. However, if you have purchased WisBar Advance 3.x on or after May 1st, 2010, then you qualify for a free upgrade.

Support for Windows Mobile 2003 and later
New task panel with window previews
Improved touch friendliness throughout the program.
Can display available cellular network types.
Displays type of cellular network the phone is connected to.
New and improved process manager with full system stats.
When using touch-friendly options, provides a new notification manager.

Send your email address to chris@lakeridgesoftware.com. I'll double-check to see why it's not working. There does seem to be a little hiccup as the server was also refusing to send out upgrade codes, so there might be something there, too.

Thanks for the release and the correction of the bug I reported.
I'm still having the one on opera mini closed when "minimized and closing another app" but i'm going to try opera 10 to see if I have it with this one...

One silly question, how to get the update price, i do not see an option for this. Only get the normal price when try to purchase the software.

I guess I should have made the upgrading a little clearer. To get the upgrade price, just add the program to your cart and then check out. You will then be asked for your name and email address. Please use the email address you purchased WA3 with. The shopping cart will then search the database and apply the discount pricing accordingly. This will be shown on the summary screen prior to sending you to PayPal for the payment.

If the discount does not work, or you've changed your email address, please let me know and I'll get things taken care of ASAP.

@Dr. Verdi: Since the shopping cart isn't giving you the discounted price, please email me directly at chris@lakeridgesoftware.com and I'll get it working for you. It's quite possible that there are still a few bugs left in the shopping cart.

@YvonLeFou: I tested the closing against Opera 10 for a few hours yesterday and was never able to duplicate the problem, though I have seen it against Opera 9 with no explanation. So, v10 may work better for you.

OK, maybe this should be obvious, but if we are going to try the switch from WA3 to 4, are there any new procedures? Do we need to delete all the old settings and files. I remember a long time ago something about not mixing new and old engines (whatever that is, something you changed when you made a newer version). I ask because on install I think we get asked to save old settings--maybe not, I'm just being nervous.....

I didn't save settings, as this is a different version.
Also, Chris, didn't realize that the discount applied after you filled in info, so that's all taken care of.

@Catma51: I'm glad that the store worked for you. I'm beginning to get nervous that it's not fully ready.

@GreatDay: You should, in theory, be able to keep both programs installed. The caveat is that you will have to have only one set to run on startup and you will have to perform a soft-reset in between uses. So, if you launched WA3, you will need to soft-reset before you run WA4. This is because WA3 leaves some items in memory that will conflict with WA4's features.
